Welcome to the Adviser section of the New Michigan FCCLA Website. Check here often for new resources on growing membership, raising money, and providing quality experiences for your students - as well as all of the registration information you'll need for the year. If you have ideas or articles to submit, send them to bschmidt@emich.edu.

Funding Opportunity

Target is giving away 800 grants of $1000 each to fund field trips (like the State Leadership Meeting) this spring.  The deadline to apply is November 1 though, so time is of the essence.  The following information is directly from the letter I received from Target:

"We also listen to the needs of teachers, who've told us that field trip funding is a concern.  In response, we're delighted to introduce the Target Field Trip grants program, which takes learning out of the classroom and into the real world.  Target will award 800 grants of up to $1000 each to teachers and classrooms nationwide.  Teachers can apply online at target.com/teachers until November 1.  Recipients will be announced in December and grants will be awarded in February 2007, just in time for spring fields trips."

All of the registration information for the State Leadership Meeting is online at http://www.mifccla.org/meetings/slm.html - if the grant application asks a question that is not listed there, feel free to email Brad Schmidt at bschmidt@emich.edu, or call the office at 734-487-8657..
