Recognition Programs for Advisers
Without advisers, Michigan FCCLA wouldn’t exist. Without dedicated, hard-working advisers who love the organization, we couldn’t be as strong as we are. As a thank-you, there are several ways that Michigan recognizes outstanding advisers for their service.
Master Adviser
The Master Adviser program recognizes outstanding advisers who operate co-curricular chapters with a balanced program of work. Download the application and turn into the Michigan FCCLA office by February 1.
Adviser Mentor
The Adviser Mentor program recognizes advisers who have achieved the level of Master Adviser and have worked with beginning advisers to orient them to Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Download the application and turn into the Michigan FCCLA office by February 1.
Spirit of Advising
The Spirit of Advising award recognizes advisers who have gone above and beyond in serving the state association. The state adviser selects this recipient each year, and submits the recipient for National FCCLA recognition.
Sandra Smith Adviser of the Year
The Sandra Smith Adviser of the Year Award is designed for members to nominate their adviser for outstanding service to their local school or chapter. Information regarding this process is sent to chapter officers in January.
Integration of Core Academics
The Integration of Core Academics Award recognizes a current FCCLA chapter adviser who integrates core academic subjects into Family and Consumer Sciences Education and/or FCCLA projects and activities. Download the application and turn it into the National FCCLA office by April 1, 2011.
Recognition Programs for Other Professionals
National School Administrator Award
Exceptional school administrators encourage chapters and help students take advantage of the opportunities offered. The National School Aministrator Award recognizes and honors local administrators who give outstanding support to the organization on the local, state, and national levels. This award is made possible by a grant from the estate of Mrs. Helen Schmitz Webster, a former administrator in the Deer Creek Public Schools, Oklahoma.
