2006-2007 State Community Service Project
Touch Up, Clean Up, Fix Up

Michigan FCCLA is “Going Wild” this year for our State Community Service Project as we Touch Up, Clean Up and Fix Up our communities. We challenge you to jump into that jungle of your own back yard, and make a difference by making it an even more beautiful place to live. The project is designed in three areas: Litter Prevention, Solid Waste Reduction and Community Beautification / Improvement. Members are challenged to educate people in their school or community about technology, ordinances, etc. designed to prevent litter in the Litter Prevention area. With the Solid Waste Reduction area, members are encouraged to work with their community to encourage recycling and related activities to reduce the amount of waste going in to landfills. And the third, and most visible portion of the project is designed to challenge members to clean up in their community - picking up litter, cleaning up a park, painting park benches, etc. Anything to clean up and fix up your school or community.
