Running for State Office

Do you really like all of the leadership opportunities that FCCLA offers? Are you interested in ways that you can become more of a leader? If you answered  yes to these questions, then running for a state executive office position might be just the thing for you.

Being a member of FCCLA is a fantastic opportunity for developing personal leadership skills. However, if you want to develop those skills even further, you might consider running for a state office. Becoming a state officer allows you to take responsibility for the state organization. The officers help plan the Fall Leadership Conference and the State Leadership Conference. They also do a lot of the speaking at these events. The state officers also have smaller responsibilities like keeping in touch with chapters and members and writing articles (like this one!) that encourage members and remind them of things.

If these things sound like fun to you, then I strongly encourage you to run for a state officer position. It is a great way to increase your leadership and responsibility skills. And, to top it off, it's a lot of fun!
