Wow! This year has been great for Michigan FCCLA. Looking back from to the end of the last State Leadership meeting, I see enthusiastic members ready to go home and share new ideas with their chapters, tons of great people going home with medals that they worked hard to earn, and a new State Executive Council excited to begin their term. Then the year progressed with members working on projects for the National community service project, Relay for Life, and the state community service project, Walking Hand in Hand.
After that came the National Leadership meeting. All of the Michigan FCCLA members who went to San Diego last summer represented Michigan well, and also had a great time! If you’re like me, you learned tons of new things, got lots of new ideas, and made a bunch of new friends.
Then came the Fall Leadership Workshops in October. Overall, I’d have go say that going to the Workshops was probably one of my favorite experiences so far in FCCLA, and if you didn’t get a chance to go to one of the workshops this year, you should definitely think about attending next year. Fall Leadership Workshops are for one day each, and that day is full of great times. I loved meeting FCCLA members from all over Michigan, and I could tell that most of you were having a great time as well. Cluster meetings came next in November. I was unable to attend any of the Cluster Meetings, but I heard that were great and I hope that everyone who went had a great time! Check out the pictures!
Between the Cluster Meetings and the State Leadership Meeting, Michigan FCCLA members became stars in their own communities and worked on community service projects, national programs, STAR Events, Power of One modules, and more.
Then, to conclude the year was the State Leadership Meeting at Valley Plaza Resort in Midland. This year’s Michigan State Leadership meeting was absolutely phenomenal, thanks to everything you, the members, have done for FCCLA this year. FCCLA would be nothing without its members, and you have all been great this year. Thank you for all that you’ve done to contribute to such and awesome year for Michigan, and remember to keep up the good work. You are amazing!
