State Community Service Project
Michigan FCCLA is challenging you to "Drive to Help" this year with our State Community Service Project, so you can "Race Into Leadership"! We’re encouraging our members to choose a project in your school or community to assist families in need.
This year the Michigan FCCLA State Community Service project is based around giving a helping hand to families that have been impacted by the current economy. A list of example activities that would promote "Drive to Help" is below.
In order to receive a Bronze award the chapter must complete one activity, complete two activities for a Silver award, and three for the Gold award. Remember to fill out the Recognition Form and send it to us to be eligible for the award!
Project Ideas

Hold a school-wide (or chapter-wide) clothing , blanket, or shoe drive to donate to a local shelter or other community outreach program.

Hold a school-wide (or chapter-wide) pantry drive to collect non-perishable food to donate to a local food bank.

Hold a school-wide (or chapter-wide) toy drive to donate new toys to Toys for Tots.
Adopt-a-family to provide back-to-school items, holiday/birthday gifts or clothing needs.

Adopt-a-family to provide them with all the food for a holiday dinner. Perhaps even cook all the food yourselves, and deliver a hot meal to the family!
Volunteer at a homeless shelter.

Contact your local United Way, Goodfellows, Kiwanis or other service organization to see what the greatest need is in your local community. Their knowledge of the community and it’s immediate needs might suprise you!
Feel free to do something that’s not on the list - be creative!
